Air Treatment Inc. is Celebrating an Anniversary!

How time flies! It seems like just yesterday when I was trying to decide how to grow my business in the cramped quarters we previously occupied.

The employee/customer parking was limited to 4 spaces and not much more room in the back parking lot for our company vehicles. We were in the process of buying out another HVAC company and would be adding 13 employees and as many trucks. It was time to move!

We had a limited time frame to find a new location before the purchase of the other company was finalized. The search was on for a larger office space with additional warehouse and more parking for both employees and company trucks.

As luck would have it, the next day I received a flyer in the mail for a building that had just gone up for sale and of all things, was previously occupied by another HVAC company!

Timing is everything, so we made an appointment and checked out the place. It was perfect. The space even allowed for future growth. After some back and forth, we finally agreed on a price and set the closing date.

We were set to close exactly two weeks before closing on the other HVAC business, so time was of the essence. We hurriedly moved as much into the new space as we could during those two weeks, and after closing on the other business, we got to start the process of moving them in just as quickly. This all happened in May of 2010, and it was one long crazy summer!

It took a while, but by the end of summer, everyone and everything was finally moved in, and the new place seemed like home. It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years, and it amazes me that my team made that whole process happen, especially during our busiest seasons.

We did a major cleaning and re-organizing this year, and things are in really good shape. We also opened up a new location in Winston-Salem this past Fall. Apparently, I’m a glutton for punishment, but sometimes I think I need a little craziness in my life to keep things interesting.

Here’s to the next ten years!
